Do I Need a Permit?
- Any construction on the exterior of the structure except painting and small repairs.
- Windows (new or replaced), Siding, Skirting, all Decks, Roofing, Fencing, Driveways, Culverts, Demolition, Sewer line and Retaining walls over 4 ft tall.
- Site Development permits if 10 cubic yards or grading or adding/replacing 2000 sqft of hard surface. i.e.. roof, asphalt, gravel
- Interior work that includes the following: removal, addition, or alteration of Framing and/or Sheetrock, along with Insulation, Electrical, Plumbing and Mechanical
- New construction, or any type of building addition. Exception: Storage or Shed smaller than 128 square feet, that is not attached to another building, does not need a permit. (required to follow set backs and code regulations)
- All development within the Floodplain. Please review the Floodplain Development page for specific details.
- Other possible permits that may be required include Fire, Environmental, Land Use, Site Development, Right of Way and Permissive Use permits. (Right of Way: Any work within the Right of Way will require a permit and possibly a Permissive Use Permit.)

- Interior work, that is not included in work listed in "requires a permit" page. i.e.. Door Replacement, Paint, Cabinets, Flooring, and Plumbing (as long as the plumbing isn’t new or being moved). Exception: Properties in the Floodplain will require a permit for all work attached to the structure.
- Exterior work, that is not included in work listed in "requires a permit" page.. i.e.. Paint, Gutters and Landscaping - site work that includes minor brush/ vegetation removal and grading work under 10 cubic yards.
