Aberdeen Permit History

The City of Aberdeen, Permit Department, has residential and commercial address files with building, plumbing, mechanical and electrical permits, dated back as far as the mid-1940s (in some cases). The files also contain code enforcement case documents, home occupancy approval documents, permissive use permits, etc.

In 2016, the Community Development Department, had the paper files scanned and turned into searchable PDF files. A copy of the PDF files is available through an off-site link City of Aberdeen Historic Files.  These files are searchable by address or by a word search.  There may be more than one file per address. You might start your search with just the building number.

In 2018, the Permit Center changed all permitting processes to a fully electronic system. The system allows for all code enforcement, permitting, rental licensing, inspections, file notes, etc. to be electronically processed and filed. Copies of paper permits are no longer required to be posted during projects.

For information on searching and current electronic permits, (2018 to today's date) please visit the Parcel Search page.
