Museum Board
The Board of Museum and History is currently disbanded.
- The Board of Museum and History Meets on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. on the 3rd floor of the Aberdeen City Hall. You can find information on the role of the Board in the Aberdeen Municipal Code section 2.64.

ABERDEEN MUSEUM OF HISTORY:
The Armory Building was destroyed in a fire on June 9, 2018. The Armory Building housed the Museum along with local social service agencies. There is not a public museum open at this time. For information on what artifacts survived the fire, we have a Photo Album on our Facebook Page "Aberdeen Museum of History".
- Interested in VOLUNTEERING? Please contact sbarnum@aberdeenwa.gov. We need to volunteers to assist with inventory of the Collection. Volunteers work on Tuesdays at the Museum Storage/Warehouse on the Port Dock road.

MUSEUM COLLECTIONS COMMITTEE POSITION OPENING
The City of Aberdeen is accepting Letters of Interest to serve on the Museum’s Collections Committee. The Committee meets on the 4th Wednesday of the month at 4:00 p.m. The committee makes recommendations to the Mayor and Aberdeen City Council regarding the City’s Collection per the Aberdeen Municipal Code chapter 2.64 and the City’s Collection Management Policy.
The Standing Committee shall have the authority to temporarily accept material and objects to AMH collections. These may be acquired by gift, bequest, temporary loan, exchange or abandonment. No materials or objects shall be knowingly or willfully accepted or acquired which are known to have been illegally imported or collected. Final inclusion in the AMH collection will be authorized by Aberdeen City Council.
Please submit letters of interest to Mayor Douglas Orr at dorr@aberdeenwa.gov by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19th.
