Application Preparation

All permit applications are available to apply for electronically, through the Permit Portal.

When filling out an electronic permit application, depending on the permit type, there may be submittal document required. Each permit type has its own set of requirements and details you will need to provide.

Below is the specific information that will be needed to complete the listed permit application.

Permit Application Type: Commercial Re-Roof

Project Description

A detailed description is needed for every project. Be specific! 

Example: 

  • Where is the roofing being done? (ie. West end, Full building, Awning?)
  • How many squares?
  • What type of roofing is being removed and replaced?
  • Is there sheathing being replaced?

Submittals

Submittals are needed for any projects, that require prior approval, through a plan review

  • None required.
  • Asbestos Test - Hot mop, silver coat, some asphalt, may contain Asbestos and will be required to be tested before removal. This requirement will be added to the permit application, only as needed. 

Details

This section of the application will require you to provide the below information.

  • Existing layers. (How many layers are currently on the roof)?
  • Existing layers of roofing types?
  • How many layers are being removed?
  • Amount of sheathing being replaced?
  • How many squares of new roofing are you installing?
  • What roofing types are being installed?

Fees

Permit fees will be based on this project valuation. The valuation is the project cost, that includes all materials and labor at market price.

Other Possible Requirements

This will be a link, on the application, for possible additional permits needed for the project. Any additional permits listed, that are not required, will be removed during the review process.
