Street Division

Purpose

The Street Division has responsibility for the operation and maintenance of the public street infrastructure that consists of the following: 

  • Alleys
  • City-owned streetlights
  • Culverts
  • Curbs
  • Gutters
  • Pavement markings
  • Sidewalks
  • Signals
  • Streets
  • Traffic control devices

Additional Duties

Additional duties of the Street Division include: 

  • Paving and patching work for other City departments
  • Response to weather related roadway problems
  • Roadside vegetation control
  • Street sweeping

The Street Division maintains around 171.8 miles of Street Lanes, 15.5 miles of alleys and 73.7 miles of sidewalks.

Sign Shop

The City of Aberdeen Sign Shop takes care City wide traffic control, all traffic sign in the City of Aberdeen, adds logo identification to all city vehicles and also works with the street maintenance crew.
