Make a Difference
The City of Aberdeen offers great volunteer opportunities and projects for individuals and or groups that are looking to give back to their community. Volunteers also contribute thousands of hours of time to maintain and improve our parks that are much needed to preserve our community and the rich history that makes us unique.
Our volunteers come in all ages and many times work directly with the public in providing customer service to the community. Our volunteers do tremendous work and have great fun as well!
Volunteer in Parks
The City of Aberdeen offers some great volunteer opportunities like our Bloom Team. A Program that has a main focus of cleaning up Aberdeen and making it look nice and beautiful. They also have a contribution in helping with the blossoming of our big baskets of flowers that are hanging all around the city’s main streets.
The Aberdeen Bloom Team is a group of volunteers that focus on the City's Beautification Program. They meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays from May through September. Serving on The Bloom Team gives volunteers to the opportunity to make a difference in Aberdeen through the flower program, winter decorations, and Fall plantings.
Alive Church has also spent many hours getting a group together to help clean up many of our parks to keep them safe for our community.
Aberdeen Rotary Club
The Aberdeen Rotary Club was the 56th Rotary Club in the United States. Rotary is a worldwide organization of more than 1.2 million business professionals and community leaders. Our Rotary group helps our city in many ways. One big way they help is by keeping our Log Pavilion looking clean and debris free.
Junior High & High School Students
We also have opportunities for our Junior High and High School students to earn credit for their schools. Our youth has a great helping hand with cleaning up around the city and parks. They also provide us with other project ideas that are much appreciated. So if you have any project ideas, or just would like some community volunteer hours, let us know!
Special Requirements for all Park volunteer Positions:

- If younger than 18, must have parent consent
- Must successfully complete a background check and criminal history questionnaire
