Salary Range: (Range 20): $4,648 – $5,642/mo. plus excellent benefits
Position Summary: The Assistant City Electrician coordinates and performs electrical inspections, installations, maintenance and repairs to the City electrical systems and equipment.
This classification requires journey-level electrician skills. Work is performed independently within departmental policy and guidelines and with the help of an apprentice or maintenance worker.
The Assistant Electrician will perform maintenance, repairs and installs electrical systems such as traffic controllers and street lighting as well as maintains City-owned buildings, Wishkah Headworks, Wynoochee Intake, remote sewer lift stations, water pump stations, storm water dump stations, the community center/museum building, the library, and other locations.
Requirements: Experience, education, or training which provides the level of knowledge, skill and ability equivalent to: High school degree or GED equivalent and experience as a journey-level electrician. Additional requirements include:
- Valid Washington state driver’s license
- Washington state certification as Journey-Level (01 General) Electrician
- Class B commercial driver’s license (for electrical line truck), or the ability to obtain one within 3 months of employment
- Flagging certificate
- First aid card
