What It Is

The Aberdeen Plumbing Code (AMC 15.32) regulates the design, installation, and maintenance of plumbing systems and fixtures.

Aberdeen has adopted, by reference, the 2018 Edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC) by chapter 51 to 56 WAC, including Appendices A, B and I, and excluding chapter 16, which is not adopted. The City has also adopted the requirements relating to venting and combustion air of fuel-fired appliances in Chapter 5 of the UPC and those portions of the UPC addressing building sewers.

Permits

Permits are required for any new construction plumbing, moving a drain, adding a drain and side sewers. Plumbing repairs are not required to have a permit. Please visit Permit Center for more information on applying for plumbing permits.
