Position Summary: Caretakers are responsible for the facility/complex. This includes, but is not limited to: informing facility users of rules and polices a Pioneer Park and/or Bishop Athletic Complex, and enforcing those rules and polices when necessary. The Caretakers must inform the Park Maintenance Supervisor and/or the Parks & Recreation Director of any concerns or problems at Pioneer Park or Bishop Athletic Complex.

The Park Grounds shall be kept closed and locked between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m., except for any hours that have been extended as required for any authorized, scheduled events. On a daily basis the caretaker will: lock gates at both Bishop Complex and Pioneer each evening, as well as lock all restrooms at Bishop Complex and Pioneer Park each evening. Additionally, the Caretakers are responsible for opening and unlocking restrooms, and making sure the facilities are open between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. The Caretakers are responsible for assisting park users when necessary.

Requirements:

• A valid Washington State Driver’s License is required.
• Employees in this position are subject to a criminal background check and will be required to complete background check authorization form as a condition of employment.
• Must be a minimum of 18 years old.

As a condition of employment, the Caretakers are required to live in City provided housing. The City provides water, sewer, and garbage. All other utilities are the responsibility of the Caretaker. It is understood that the Caretaker’s occupancy of the residence provided by the City is contingent upon the Caretaker’s continued employment as a Parks Caretaker with the City of Aberdeen.
